Responsibilities

Candidate will support the Air Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) Project that is engaged in development of Signal Processing Applications for the Department of Defense (DOD).??The applicant must be familiar with Linux Operating Systems and Subversion (SVN) version control software.? Familiarity with the Java programming language and/or GIT-SVN a plus.? The applicant should be ready to demonstrate an ability to use the Linux OS and control software using SVN version control software.? The position is located in Patuxent River, MD.?

Apply knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop and apply automated solutions to engineering, scientific, or business data acquisition and management problems. Uses mathematical, statistical, and scientific logic to identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to problems of automated data processing (ADP) hardware or software systems design and operations. Analyzes and formulates architectural and functional specifications, interfaces, and data structures. Researches applications for ADP hardware, software, and operating systems. Writes, modifies, and adapts computer programs in machine level, assembly, and third or fourth generation programming languages. May act as team leader or supervisor, developing project plans, guidelines, or controls, and directing the work of other computer scientists, specialists, and technicians.

Qualifications
  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Eight (8) years of combined education (classes/course studies taken at the undergraduate level in a Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering field) and experience performing the foregoing functions can be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

  • The applicant must be familiar with Linux Operating Systems and Subversion (SVN) version control software. Applicant will primarily act as the Subversion Manager of a large body of software associated with the P-8A Acoustic Subsystem.?
  • Familiarity with the Java programming language in order to make modifications to the Acoustic Subsystem software.
  • Familiarity with the GIT-SVN version control software in order to make modifications to the future Acoustic Subsystem software products.
  • Should be prepared to participate in processes applicable to DOD Weapon Systems such as: Software Requirements Reviews (SRRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs);
  • Experience in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Self-motivated individual to learn new Software Development Environments (SDEs);
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, normally between 08:00 and 18:00 hours
  • Applicant must be willing to travel on average of ten (10) times per year, for 2-3 days, primarily to Horsham, PA
  • Candidates should possess a Security Clearance of SECRET or better. Candidates may be considered that can pass the appropriate background check for a SECRET Security Clearance.

  • P-8A Poseidon A/C System
  • Air Anti-Submarine Warfare
  • Sonobuoys
  • Displays and Controls development
  • Experience with C/C++ Programming
  • Other Air ASW platforms: LAMPS and P-3C
  • Experience with Visio

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
