Description
This position supports tasking onsite at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) in Patuxent River, Maryland, and provides program engineering expertise for an ACAT 1 program. The candidate will be responsible for supporting Test and Evaluation efforts related to the upgraded F/A-18-E/F/G radar system. Responsibilities include tracking test resources, monitoring upgrade efforts, coordination of test activities with multiple organizations and liaison efforts with on base, Contractor facilities, and remote test activities. The successful candidate will provide direct support to several Government Test Managers and related disciplines to help ensure mission continuity and successful, timely fielding of improved systems and capabilities. Candidate will participate as a member of and/or support specified Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and IPT directed technical meetings.Candidate will also assist in developing T&E-related acquisition documentation, such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) updates, and ensure approval by oversight agencies prior to commencement of test events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science or technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.Ten (10) years of professional experience is required. At least six (6) years of experience with naval aviation and/or Test and Evaluation (T&E) is required.Strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Applicant must have the demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-directive.Candidate must be able to organize, demonstrate effective oral and written communications, and operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. Candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer?based productivity applications. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active Top Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 6 years is required.Anactive SECRET clearance with TOP SECRET eligibility (solid financial background and limited foreign associations, etc.) may be considered for otherwise well qualified candidates.
