Aerospace Engineer, Lead

The Engineering and Analytical Solutions Directorate (EASD) in Lexington Park, MD (near the Patuxent River Naval Air Station) has an opening for an Aerospace Engineer Lead
SCOPE: The successful candidate will be a member of an advanced technical team performing aerospace modeling and simulation, design, test and development. The technical tasks will include aircraft performance assessment, modeling of aircraft dynamics and aerodynamics, aircraft subsystems, and various payloads subsystems for the purpose of flight dynamics, flight controls and aerodynamics analysis. In addition, tasks will include support for the development, modification, integration, test and maintenance of GPWS, TAWS, CAS, and MCAC systems

Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering; Master of Science is highly desired
5+ years of experience (practical and/or academic) to include development and/or refinement of flight dynamics models; work with flight test data to include flight test support as well as flight data analysis, and/or familiarity with aircraft performance, aerodynamic design, non-linear system identification, and flight control system design and analysis. Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position.
C/C++ programming language skills
Must have a good knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process
Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance after hire
Experience with technical work in flight dynamics and related fields. Familiarity with aircraft electronics and avionics systems along with knowledge of collision avoidance systems is a plus. Verifiable experience with aircraft systems engineering activities is desired
