Background: This position will provide engineering support to the Aircraft Signature and Avionics Measurements (ASAM) Branch of Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR), Patuxent River, Maryland. The?ASAM Branch?( comprised of?four teams: PRISM,?Radar Cross Section (RCS),?Electronic Warfare (EW), and?Radar, and this position will support all teams at the Branch level.

Duties & Responsibilities Other Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:

  • Directly assist the ASAM Branch Head, Team Leads, and Project Leads by performing system engineering tasks such as requirements definition, applying SE principles to project planning and execution, system integration, configuration management, quality assurance, acquisition, and resource management.

  • Perform as the Branch Lead for planning, managing, conducting, and completing ASAM project SETR events.

  • Coordinate with and assist range level system engineering POCs as needed.

  • Perform other duties as required by the ASAM Branch Head.

    • At least 3 years? systems engineering experience performing the stated or similar functions

    • Prior NAVAIR system engineering experience is highly desired

    • Applicant must be a self-starter and be able to work smoothly as a member of a technical team.

  • Should possess good verbal and written communication skills

  • Position may require occasional travel

Education Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from a school of engineering having at least one professional engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) (or in related disciplines such as physics, mathematics or computer science).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Top Secret Security Clearance.

    Work Conditions:

  • Conditions may vary.?Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.?Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

  • Applicant must possess a valid driver?s license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
