Spectrum/Radio Frequency Engineer

Job Summary:
Spectrum/RF Engineer: Perform spectrum engineering for the procurement, assignment, and protection of radio frequencies for legacy and emerging spectrum\-dependent systems in support of Navy and Marine Corps operating forces and geographic Area Frequency Coordination offices\. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
+ Generate, review, submit and track spectrum certification requests to ensure adequacy and accuracy to support operational needs of the requestor and local spectrum user\.
+ Analyze technical data of communication systems and, based upon knowledge of radio equipment and radio propagation, initiate and track actions at the National or International level, as required, to eliminate conflicts in frequency assignments which arise as a result of the heavily congested radio frequency spectrum\.
+ Work in collaboration with office spectrum managers to analyze impacts and mitigations for frequency assignment requests through Spectrum XXI, FAA?s Web FCR, and other spectrum management databases\.
+ Attend working groups, as required, pertaining to Navy/Marine Corps operational requirements, frequency allocation/assignment plans, and DoD policies affecting the communications\-electronics elements of the military services\.
+ Evaluate and analyze Table of Frequency Allocations, channel plans, and planned changes to the Radio Regulations as prepared at national and international telecommunications conferences to consider the potential impact to Department of the Navy communications systems and equipment\.
+ Coordinate with installation spectrum managers, area frequency coordination offices, fleet operational users, and other spectrum\-dependent system stakeholders\.
+ Coordinate with appropriate federal, non\-federal, military and other government officials of the US and foreign countries to carry out the above actions\.
+ Support all presidential broadband initiative data calls by; performing technical and engineering reviews of proposed system changes; review and provide guidance on the identification of new spectrum; generate, submit and track spectrum certifications and frequency assignments are needed; generate, review, and support technical interference studies to support spectrum transition, migration or compression\.
+ Provide RF environmental spectrum monitoring and direction finding support\. Help monitor range operations and installation spectrum usage\. Assist in the development and update of an informational library providing greater fidelity of spectrum occupancy and use across the installation\.
+ Expert knowledge of RF tools including VISUALYZE , GIANT Reliability Prediction Model, spectrum management tools and databases, and interference modeling and simulation tools\.
Minimum Qualifications:
10 years of experience with commercial and DoD spectrum engineering practices and requirements \(preferred\)\.
Knowledge of DoD and service specific spectrum regulatory processes\.
Knowledge of national and international spectrum tables of allocations\.
Practical demonstrated experience and knowledge of national, DoD spectrum certification, and frequency assignment processes\.
Knowledge of and experience with RF propagation, modeling and simulation tools and software\.
Experience with spectrum reallocation and spectrum sharing\.
Experience with spectrum monitoring and direction finding systems, capabilities and processes\.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills\.
Possess excellent data gathering, analytical, and client problem solving skills\.
Active Secret security clearance\.
Bachelor of Science \(BS\)/Bachelor of Arts \(BA\) Degree in Electrical Engineering\.
Working Conditions:
? Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 90 percent of the time or more\.
? Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer\.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
