This position is that of an Occupational Health Nurse who also functions as a Program Manager and Consultant. This position plans and oversees regional program(s) at all subordinate activities to include any branch health clinics at Dahlgren, Indian Head and Naval Air Facility Washington. This position is assigned to the Public Health Services Directorate, Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River, Maryland and is responsible for providing direct quality professional occupational health nursing care to over 7000 civil service/active duty employees and to ensure program support to both operational and shore military activities with a regional population of over 20,000 active duty and civilian employees.

A typical day in the life as an Occupational Health Nurse:
In conjunction with the Occupational Health (OH) Physician, assist and advise the Command Leadership on the OH program, related issues and in resolving any administrative issues.
In coordination with the OH Physician, develop, implement, evaluate and review OH programs, policies and procedures.
Develop and deliver a full range of employee health education programs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams internal and external to the Area of Responsibility.
Guide the Command OH program via site-visits at supported commands, and oversight visits periodically (at least semiannually) to assess OH clinics and programs for performance and compliance.
Ensure a comprehensive occupational medicine program assessment is completed at least annually, using established and standardized occupational medicine program assessment metrics to qualitatively and quantitatively assess complex management process and systems.
Collect, collates, and validate OH metrics annually.
Responsible for the preparation and submission of all required or requested periodic programmatic clinic reports.
Provide OH nursing services and support.

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, you must meet any ONE of the following AND the Selective Placement Factor:

You must have one or more years of progressive specialized experience working independently or with others to provide occupational health program consultation services; independently providing clinical nursing care and occupational health and safety nursing services to employees in relation to their occupations and working environments; providing treatment and administering care for illness of occupational origin and injuries that occur at the workplace, and recognizing or identifying harmful physical agents/potential health hazards/toxic chemicals and the effects.
2. You completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education. Graduate level education must have been in nursing with a concentration in a field of nursing (e.g., occupational health, public health, teaching, a clinical specialty, etc.) or in a closely related non-nursing field directly applicable to the requirements of the position to be filled. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
