Engineering Technician I

This full time position supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division located at Patuxent River, Maryland. This position pays $22.92 per hour plus company benefits. The incumbent of this position prepares electronic kits to be installed on DOD aircraft systems. All applicants must be US citizens. Preference will be given to candidates that currently hold or have held a security clearance.

_Duties & Functions:_
Engineering technicians perform one or more of the following functions. Applies engineering techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament/ordnance, or related data processing systems. This work may be in support of military weapon systems, associated support equipment or facilities, automotive systems or small craft. Maintains, repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, or programs equipment and components. Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares or applies engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures. Organizes, analyzes, and prepares reports or presentation of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations on systems, equipment or components. Compiles, processes, reduces, and analyzes test data and results. Performs simple and routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Technical adequacy of work is checked in progress.
_General Functions/Skills Required/Experience:_

The following are a list of functions and skills necessary to prepare electronic kits:
Review electrical drawing packages to create an inventory list.
Ensure Items are ordered and match the drawing.
Make labels, bag and tag items.
Provide items to QA for inspection.
Perform pre-fabrication
Must have the ability to read electrical drawings
Must have basic computer skills focusing on Excel
Must work well with people
Requires at least 2 years of experience performing engineering technician functions
_Education Required:_
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of technical or trade school (desired).
_Clearance Requirement:_ Must be a US Citizen and capable of a Secret Clearance prior to employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
