The positions are located in Patuxent River, MD at full performance, serves as an Industrial Engineer. The purpose of these positions are to provide cost estimate, acquisition, earned value management and life cycle cost estimates, in support of the Department of Defense (DOD). You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required. Single Scope Background Investigation required.
_Develops cost estimates per SECNAVINST 5223.2 and 5420.196 on Defense items._
_Executes Applies cost risk in accordance with Navy Cost Estimating Standard Ver. 1._
_Provides cost analysis expertise to develop life cycle and planning estimates._
_Analyzes operational viability of cost/schedule data._
_Evaluates operational viability of cost and schedule data to yield predictive analysis results related to critical path analysis._
_Develops detailed cost inputs for an Acquisition Program Baseline._
_Provides earned value management support, advice and guidance to DoD Program Managers._

To meet the education requirement, you must have:
Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
