Wanted:
A highly motivated Engineering Technician (IV) with demonstrated experience to perform engineering functions on Aircraft or Weapons Systems to support Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR) programs.

A week in the life of an Engineering Technician (IV):
Apply engineering techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament/ordnance, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment or components.
Review, analyze, develop, prepare, or apply engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures.
Organize, analyze, and prepare reports or presentations of technical data and information.
Plan and perform tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components.
Compile, process, reduce, or analyze test data results.
Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, select, or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents.
Receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, perform recurring work independently.
Perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexities, using operational precedents that are not fully applicable, such assignments that are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems.
Receive technical advice from a supervisor or engineer who will review your work for technical adequacy.
Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation/modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.
Apply methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements.
Conduct tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and record/evaluate data and report findings.

US Citizenship required.
High School diploma or equivalent.
In addition, completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology, or completion of at least 30 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
At least Six (6) years of experience in performing functions in an engineering field.
Of the six (6) years at least three (3) years of engineering experience shall have consisted of performing engineering functions in DoD aircraft or weapons systems.
