A week in the life of a Senior Aerospace Engineer:

Act at the engineering lead in support of flight control system development; aircraft modeling and simulation; analysis of aircraft flight dynamics; and ground and flight test support.

The technical tasks will include acting as a lead engineer:

For the design, development, integration, and test of aircraft flight control systems and autopilots
Developing, integrating, and validating models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads, engines, transmissions, flight control components, and sensors
Supporting lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems

Candidates must have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance after hiring.
Must be a US Citizen
Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering or Bachelor's plus equivalent experience.

7
years of experience (practical and/or academic) to include development and/or refinement of flight dynamics models; work with flight test data to include flight test support as well as flight data analysis, and/or familiarity with aircraft performance, aerodynamic design, non-linear system identification, and flight control system design and analysis.

Skilled in C/C+
programming language
Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position.

Must have a good knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process.
DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience with technical work in flight dynamics, flight controls, and related fields.

Familiarity with aircraft electronics and avionics systems and related issues is a plus.

Verifiable experience with aircraft systems engineering activities is desired.

Rotary Wing or helicopter background is desired.

Understanding of civil and military aircraft certification standards for hardware and software (DO-178 and DO-254 or equivalent)
Familiarity with AS9100D quality management standards for the aerospace industry.
