Title:
Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator The candidate will function as an Information Technology (IT) Systems Administration at NAS Patuxent River. The position is in Lexington Park, Maryland. Duties/Responsibilities o Responsible for the administration of the following data systems:
Computer systems hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Ability to work in a LINUX and Windows environment. o Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems, administers operating systems, and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups; o Troubleshoots basic IT issues (user cannot login, unable to access resources, etc) o Conduct inspections and remediation in coordination with Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) o Scan for wireless intrusions in classified spaces o Answer data calls and work with program offices to complete IT initiatives o Solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. o Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. o Provide guidance to less experienced team members. Requirements A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a systems administrator; Desired; A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a systems administrator of classified DoD IT systems. ACTIVE:
TS CLEARANCE - MUST BE USED WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS o Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration o Must be LINUX Qualified. Able to independently troubleshoot various IT issues o Knowledge of networking fundamentals o Experience with administrative, personnel, and operations security policies and procedures o Effective oral and written communication skills o Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; Ability to work independently and be self-motivated o Demonstrated ability to work with integrated teams comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel o Proficiency with Microsoft Office products o Experience working in a DoD security environment Preferred Skills o DoD 8570 Level II Compliance (Security
CE Certification) - If candidate does not hold this certification, they will be required to obtain it within 6 months of hiring. o Experience with standup of Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) and its classified IT components.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
